Time difference: +5 h
How it works
Each city follows a time zone from the IANA database, the reference used by phones and computers, read through your browser's built-in time functions. The calculator finds the exact moment your time corresponds to in the first city, then shows the clock in the second city at that moment. Because countries change their clocks on different dates, the difference between two cities can vary during the year: Paris and New York are usually 6 hours apart, but only 5 for a few weeks in March and in October/November.

Frequently asked questions
Is daylight saving time taken into account?
Yes. The offset of each city is calculated for the date you enter, so summer time and winter time are applied automatically.
Why does the time difference change during the year?
Countries switch to summer time on different dates, and some never do. Between those dates the gap between two cities is one hour smaller or larger.
What does UTC mean?
Coordinated Universal Time, the world's reference clock. Every time zone is expressed as an offset from it, for example UTC+1 or UTC−5.
