How it works
The number of days is the difference between the two calendar dates; the end date is not counted unless you tick 'Include end date' (useful for a stay or an event that lasts the whole last day). Business days count Monday to Friday between the two dates; public holidays vary by country and are not removed. The duration in months follows the calendar: from January 15 to March 20 is 2 months and 5 days.

Frequently asked questions
How many days are there between two dates?
Subtract the earlier date from the later one. From January 1 to January 31 there are 30 days; 31 if you count both the first and the last day.
Should I include the end date?
To measure a duration (how long until…), don't include it. To count days of presence (a hotel stay counted per day, a leave from Monday to Friday), include it: Monday to Friday is 4 days apart but 5 days of presence.
Are public holidays removed from business days?
No. Holidays depend on the country and region, so the count only removes Saturdays and Sundays. Subtract your local holidays if needed.
How many days are in a year?
365 days in a common year and 366 in a leap year. A year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4, except century years not divisible by 400 (2000 was a leap year, 2100 will not be).
