How it works
The calculator counts the whole years and months between the birth date and the reference date, then the remaining days. Months have different lengths, so the count follows the calendar rather than averages. Someone born on January 31 completes one month on the last day of February. Someone born on February 29 completes a year on February 28 in common years. Totals in days and weeks are exact counts of calendar days.

Count the full years since the birth date, then the full months since the last birthday, then the days since the last monthly anniversary. The calculator does this using real month lengths.
When does someone born on February 29 have their birthday?
In leap years, on February 29. In other years, this calculator counts the birthday on February 28. Some countries use March 1 for legal purposes.
